ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS

Come visit Sterling and you will immediately notice the facility’s serene and natural setting. Our building does not look like that of other manufacturing companies, and that is because it is not like any other. At Sterling, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment and to reduce energy consumption. We know that taking a few small steps now can help ensure the continued sustainability of our industry. The following is a list of some of the steps we take to ensure we are responsible for the smallest possible environmental impact:

  • Our facility is partially underground allowing for increased energy efficiency.
  • We focus on minimizing scrap to reduce waste.
  • Sterling utilizes recycled material when possible.
  • Our climate system utilizes recycled water from the production floor to heat the building in the winter and to cool the building in the summer.
  • We actively seek to replace older, more energy-consuming machines with more modern, energy-efficient machines.
  • Our engineering team designs products requiring the least amount of plastic possible. Whether that means thinner product walls or eliminating unnecessary features, this translates to cost savings and reduced material consumption.
