Financial Controller

Key Functions

  • Responsible for the preparation of company financial statements including consolidated statements according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Prepare the annual budget and support the management team in their overall objectives and strategy
  • Oversee and manage end-of-the-month closings
  • Maintain the fixed asset and cost accounting system
  • Manage all payroll activities including weekly submissions to Paylocity for processing
  • Work with the executive team to determine appropriate monthly accruals, including commissions to be paid out to the sales team
  • Manage Human Resources
  • Produce and review payroll, sales, inventory and other reports with executive team
  • Assist with all aspects of the company retirement plan
  • Provide training and guidance to employees to ensure processes are adhered to in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Manage all aspects of company insurance needs
  • File monthly, quarterly and annual reports as they relate to state and federal reporting (unemployment, sales & use tax, annual retirement)
  • Able to work with external accountant and provide support and documentation at year end

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with IQMS is a plus
  • Strong computer literacy
